Homemade dog food is dog food that is prepared at home. It can be a great, healthy option for your dog’s food, if you have the time and money. Sometimes, dogs who don’t do well on traditional dog foods may require a natural diet. Or, sometimes owners just like to prepare a few natural meals a year for their dog as an extra treat.

1. Doggy Dessert Dinner

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of white or brown cooked rice
  • Chopped up cooked chicken (2 pounds)
  • Diced fruits like berries, apples, pitted cherries, pear and melons (3 cups)

Directions:

  1. Mix the ingredients together and serve it.

You can refrigerate the remaining for up to five days.

2. Dog’s Favorite Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients:

  • Rolled oats (1 cup)
  • Honey (1 tablespoon)
  • Fish oil (1/2 tablespoon)
  • Wheat (2 cups ) check for allergies
  • Smooth peanut butter (1/3 cups)
  • Water (1 1/2 cups )

Directions:

  1. Turn on your oven and allow it to heat up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Mix flour and oats in a large bowl together. Pour a cup of water into the mix a stir until the mixture smoothens
  3. Add the honey, fish oil and peanut butter. Mix them until the ingredients blend very well.
  4. Then add water very slowly until there is a thick, doughy consistency in the mixture. If the dough is too sticky, add more flour.
  5. Pour flour very lightly on a cooking surface. To create a thick sheet of ¼ inch, roll the dough on the cooking surface for some minutes
  6. You can create shapes with a cookie cutter and then place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake for about 40 minutes.

After baking the food is ready, allow it to cool completely then feed your dog.

3. Dog’s Beef Dinner

Ingredients:

  • Mixed vegetables (3 cups)
  • Ground beef or ground turkey( 10 pounds)
  • White or brown rice (5 cups)
  • Raw or cooked whole eggs ( 10 )

Directions:

  1. Cook the rice and meat in a pot with water.
  2. Add the vegetables before the end of cooking.
  3. Mix in the raw beef and everything else together, then form them into meatballs.
  4. Cook the meatballs until fully cooked.

The food is ready. You can use this meal as a snack you can also store it for five days in a refrigerator.

4. Frozen Yogurt Pops

Ingredients:

  • Minced carrots (1/2 cup)
  • Non-sugar fruit juice (1 cup)
  • Non-fat frozen yogurt (6 oz. container)

Directions:

  1. Add all the ingredients into a medium-sized bowl. Stir the ingredients until they are well-blended.
  2. Drop the mixture by spoonful onto ice cube trays.
  3. Freeze the ingredients until they become solid. Use hard trays always because it is a lot easier to remove the treats from hard trays

5. Broccoli, Rice, and Chicken Dinner for Dogs

Ingredients:

  • Raw or cooked whole eggs ( 5)
  • Diced chicken (5 pounds)
  • Chopped broccoli (3 cups)
  • Olive oil (3 tablespoons)
  • white or brown rice (5 cups)

Directions:

  1. Boil rice and chicken until almost fully cooked.
  2. Add broccoli and continue cooking until the chicken is well cooked.
  3. Allow the meal to cool before adding eggs and oil. The food is ready.

6. Dog’s Fruit Parfait

Ingredients:

  • Applesauce (half a cup)
  • Strawberries, diced (half a cup)
  • Non-fat plain yogurt (half a cup)
  • Diced blueberries (half a cup)

Directions:

  1. Put the entire ingredient in a bowl and blend yogurt and fruits smooth.
  2. You can now serve in small quantities to prevent over feeding especially to small pups.

7. Dog’s Favorite Vegetable Balls and Beef

Ingredients:

  • Dry milk (2 cups)
  • Organic beef and vegetable baby food (2 6-ounce jars)
  • Whole-wheat flour (1 cup)
  • Water (1 cup)

Directions:

  1. Turn your oven on to 350 degrees Fahrenheit .
  2. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Drop mixture in large spoonfuls onto a baking sheet.
  4. Bake from 12 to 15 minutes.
  5. Allow to the meal treats to cool and serve.

8. Dog’s Chicken Casserole

Ingredients:

  • Chopped green beans ( 1/2 cup)
  • Chicken breasts (4)
  • Chicken broth low-salt (4 cups)
  • Chopped Carrots (1/2 cup)
  • Rolled oats ( 1/2 cup)
  • Chopped Broccoli ( 1/2 cup)

Directions:

  1. First remove excess fat from the chicken breasts and cut into small chunks.
  2. Cook the chicken breasts until it is no longer pink.
  3. Add all the ingredients into a large pot and cook with a little over medium heat until the carrots become soft, it will take about 15 minutes to achieve this.
  4. Allow the food to cool before serving.

9. Dog’s Fish Dinner

Ingredients:

  • Pink salmon (2 cans)
  • Frozen fish fillets (2 pounds)
  • Raw or cooked whole eggs (3)
  • White or brown cooked rice, cooked lentils, or cooked oatmeal (1 cup)
  • diced vegetables like cooked squash, cabbage and peas. You are allowed to mix two or more (3 cups)

Directions:

  1. Grind or dice the fish and then cook it.
  2. Mix vegetables into a pot of water, boil and simmer for up to 5 minutes then add other ingredients.
  3. Mix properly and allow the food to cool before serving.

You can also keep the remaining in well sealed container in a refrigerator for up to three days.

10. Doggie Chili

Ingredients:

  • Drained Kidney beans (1 cup)
  • Chicken breasts (4)
  • Diced Carrots (1 cup)
  • Drained Black beans (1 cup)
  • Chicken broth (4 cups)
  • Tomato paste (1/2 cup)

Directions:

  1. Remove the excess fat and cut the chicken breasts into smaller pieces.
  2. Cook chicken breasts until it is no longer pink.
  3. Add the other ingredients into a large pot and cook with a little over medium heat for about 10 minutes until well cooked.
  4. Allow the food to cool before serving.

Leftovers can be stored up in the refrigerator for over five days.
