But what are the most fun things to do in NYC, you ask? With nearly infinite options to consider, I’ve compiled a list of my must-do’s to help you sift through the rumble.
FUN THINGS TO DO IN NYC
1. Visit Coney Island
If you’re visiting during the summer, you must take a train jaunt out to Brooklyn’s Coney Island. There, you can enjoy one of the classic restaurants like Tom’s or Ruby’s, stroll the historic boardwalk, or visit Luna Park Amusement Park. Don’t forget to check out the New York Aquarium while you’re there.
2. Plan a Pub Crawl
If you’re new to the bar crawl scene or just looking for an exciting way to bar hop, try Get-A-Clue Crawls, a service that organizes bar crawl scavenger hunts all around New York. 3. Attend a Baseball Game
America’s favorite pastime is alive and well in NYC. New York has both the Mets and Yankees, as well as a minor league affiliate for each respective big league club. Each team offers its own slice of baseball fun, and they all qualify as some of the most fun things to do in NYC.
3.1 The New York Yankees
First, there’s the boys from the Bronx. The Yankees play at the picturesque Yankee Stadium, which replaced the original ballpark in 2009. 27 World Series Championships can’t be wrong. Single game ticket prices range from five bucks (select games) to $500 and up, depending upon the game and seating location.
3.2 The New York Mets
Then there are the New York Mets, who play ball at Citi Field, the state-of-the-art stadium located in Flushing, Queens. The Mets will look to return to the World Series this season, and take care of unfinished business. Ticket prices start at $12 (for select games) and go up to $450.
3.3 Staten Island Yankees
The Baby Bombers, the short-season Class A affiliate of the NY Yankees in the NY-Penn League, play at Richmond County Bank Ballpark in the St. George section of Staten Island.
Just a 20-minute ferry ride on the Staten Island Ferry, you’ll get to witness some of tomorrow’s stars at a fraction of the price. In 2015, individual ticket prices started at $9 per game and went up to $18.
3.4 Brooklyn Cyclones
The Cyclones are the Mets’ short-season affiliate in the same NY-Penn League. They play adjacent to the historic Coney Island Boardwalk at picturesque MCU Ballpark. Ticket prices for the 2016 season are the same as in 2015, with field box seats costing $17, box seats $14 and bleachers $10 in advanced. Tickets purchased on game day will cost $2 more.
