Top 7 Blogs About Blogging You Should Already Be Following

Heads up, Empowered Shoppers, we’re a participant in affiliate marketing programs. For more information, see our disclosure here.

When I first heard about blogging – way back in ancient times when the AOL was still the main way you accessed the internet, and the familiar song of dial up internet still filled my home – it honestly baffled me. Who would want to put all of their thoughts and feelings on the internet for all the world (hypothetically) to see?

Blogging has come a long way since its inception and now it is a powerful marketing tool. But learning how to create and promote great blog content is more difficult than it sounds. These blogs about blogging (and doesn’t that just blow your mind!) have been invaluable resources for learning how to blog with the best.

1. Jeff Bullas Blog

Now even though this is Jeff Bullas’ blog, he features a lot of great contributors. This blog has really great articles about internet marketing in general, but I’ve learned a lot about writing readable blogs from the many great articles here. There is even a great ebook about blogging that I would highly recommend that is featured on the home page.

2. Copyblogger

This is a blog by bloggers, for bloggers. Topics range from how to build your audience to simply how to write more readable content. And they have some fantastic ongoing series, like “Confessions of a Pink-Haired Marketer” (Podcast) that I absolutely adore.

3. Michelle Shaeffer

Whenever I need a little pick-me-up (for my writing), this is my go-to blog. Not only is it full of blogging tips, advice, and inspiration, it features some great motivational posts as well. Michelle Shaeffer’s writing always makes me think, “Yes, this woman has been where I am, she really understands me,” and then gives me great advice to overcome my problems.

4. Content Marketing Institute

I love this blog. I have yet to not learn something new from reading this blog. Although it does tend to be more about, well, content marketing, a big chunk of good content marketing is good blogging.

5. Convince and Convert

Again, this blog isn’t all about blogging, but they do have a lot of great articles about creating and promoting top-notch content. Jay Baer and his team of marketing consultants always provide great insights and thoughtful tips and tricks to help develop marketing skills.

6. Hubspot

Hubspot produces so much content, it can be a little dizzying. But Hubspot has become one of my go-to sources for insights about creating better content. I can always search Hubspot’s many blogs and find at least 5 extremely helpful articles. Plus, they have great content that you can download and use to become even better at creating content.

7. Social Media Examiner

I’ll admit, when I first navigated to this blog, I thought I’d clicked the wrong link. The bright colors, safari theme, and chibi explorer made me think I’d stumbled onto something created for children. Once I realized I had clicked the correct link, I was a little skeptical about the content. However, this unconventional blog is chock full of great tips and tricks for not only creating great content, but effectively promoting it with social media.

Those are my top 7 blogs. Are there any that I missed? Let me know the blogs you absolutely recommend following in the comments.

Much success,
