Using Videos for Content Marketing

Using Videos for Content Marketing

Heads up, Empowered Shoppers, we’re a participant in affiliate marketing programs. For more information, see our disclosure here.

If you are looking for new and exciting ways to improve your content marketing then you can’t afford to forget about videos. These offer exciting possibilities for getting your message across in a fun way that hooks people in and gets them to understand what you are all about.

One problem with this is that it is easy to just upload a video to your site and then forget about it. However, if you do this then how many people are likely to see it? If you have gone to the time and expense of making a fantastic video then you need a content marketing strategy for it so that the world see it.

Share It

Probably the simplest and easiest way to get a lot of people to see your new video is to share it online on as many social media platforms as possible. The first step for most of us is to put it on YouTube, but you don’t want to stop there. Next, you should look to share it on Facebook and Twitter. After that you still aren’t finished. You could use other social media platforms such as Vine, Tumblr, LinkedIn and Pinterest as well. Finally, don’t forget to pop on some keywords and hash tags to help people find your video more easily. The more places you share the video the more people will have a chance to stumble across it and enjoy what you have created.

Add it to Some Forums

Online forums are brilliant places for finding people who are interested in something specific. If you have a video that could be of interest to people with a special interest then you will be doing them a service by adding it to some forums. Your first step is to find out which forums would be a good place for your video. With a bit of creative thinking you should be able to come up with a decent list of forums where you could post it. All you have to do after this is create a profile and link back your messages to your site. Setting up a profile on each site can take some time but the good news is that you can store the details and go back on here every time you have a new video to upload and share with the world.

Transcribe It

Not everyone has the time, inclination or interest to sit down and watch a video online, especially if it is quite long, or on a subject that they need a quick answer about. In this case, it can be a good idea to transcribe the content and let them benefit from your hard work without having to watch the whole video. They can then just scan the content and take from it what they need.

It is also worth bearing in mind that some people might avoid videos because they are on a poor internet connection, have limited Internet data plans, or because they aren’t completely comfortable with the language. By giving them the option of just reading the content you will be showing that you care, and that you make the effort to get your message across for different types of people.

Much success,
